AHS Senior Selected for National Merit Semifinalist
Joel Williams, a senior at Atkins High School, has been named a semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Joel is one of approximately 16,000 academically talented high school students that have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,600 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $30 million that will be offered next spring. The goal of the National Merit Scholarship Program is to honor the nation’s scholastic champions and encourage the pursuit of academic excellence. Joel is the son of Tony Williams and Tracy McCarty. Great job, Joel! We are so proud of you!
